FibroLAN Single Channel Devices
All FibroLAN?s single channel (and other
stand-alone) devices are packaged in quality metal housing and all are equipped
with quality internal, auto range (100VAC ?240VAC) power supplies. All models
are available (at additional cost) with a carrier type DC power supply
(-36VDC?-72VDC) ? PS48. While normally supporting commercial environmental
conditions, products are available also for industrial applications at Extended
Temperature Range (ETR) of -10?C? +70?C Default installation mode of these
products is desktop. Some are equipped with fixtures for direct mounting on
walls, for those who are not, a wall mount kit (SCH-WM) may be purchased
separately. 19? Rack-Mount shelves for installing 2 or 3 devices are available
as well (CTF-RM and RM2). The LTA and DLA series can be directly mounted on
standard ?Half Rack? (half size cabinet) using optional brackets. Products are
available in versions for Multi-Mode fibers and most popular distances over
Single-Mode fiber, as well as Single-Fiber-Strand (SFS). If you can not find in
this part the desirable interface, you may order the basic Multi-Mode model and
the appropriate Single-Mode option from Single-Mode Options for FibroLAN
products. SNMP managed versions are also available

FibroLAN Fixed Multiple channels devices
Here are fixed chassis SNMP managed and non-
managed multiple channel media converters. For MA enabled converters and for
modular chassis converters see below. All products in this section are 1U high,
providing the highest in the industry channel density. All except the mS.CON2
and the mCTF2 are 19? rack mounted. The 19? products feature hot swappable power
supplies, both AC and DC (-48VDC for Telco applications), and optional,
redundant, load sharing power supplies. Cooling fans are built into the power
supplies thus may be hot swapped as well. All managed product have the
management interfaces built in. Once the FNM1612 management module is plugged in
(which can be done in the field), the device becomes fully managed.

FibroLAN MetroStar System and modules
This Carrier Class 19?
Rack-Mountable platform is a modular multiple-channel 10/100/155/1000Mbps) Media
Converter providing up to 48 conversion channels, housed in a 3U chassis,
yielding an unprecedented density factor of 16/U. It features altogether 16
slots: 3 for power supplies, 1 for the management module and 12 for conversion
modules (up to 4 user interfaces each). All modules, controls, connectors and
indicators are located on the front panel for easy and space saving installation
(including in dual back-to-back built cabinets). Its lightweight allows
installation by a single technician. The MetroStar comes equipped with dual load
sharing power supplies while an additional slot allows the insertion of a third
redundant power supply, increasing MTBF. All modules are hot swappable. Even the
cooling fans, integrated in the modular PS rather than fixed in the chassis, are
hot swappable. All these result in record high MTBF and virtually zero MTTR.
Most of the modules are equipped with FibroLAN?s MA? technology, which allows
low cost management of the link partners. SNMP management is provided either by
a single management module or by a combination of Master and Slave modules which
allow the stacking of up to 8 devices, allowing full management of hundreds of
users by a single SNMP agent. The optional cable organizer facilitates neat and
safe deployment even in the densest configurations.

WAN Products
The WAN products include the FEM and FTM devices
The FEM unit includes 1x Fiberoptic E1 modem ( 1xE1 port 120ohm)plus 4 Ethernet
ports 10/100TX,and 1 F/O port covering distances up to 150Km ( M/M and SM links)
The FTM device contains 1 x T1 port, 4 x 10/100TX ports,and 1 F/O port covering
distances up to 150Km Thus the main advantage of these devices is the provided
additional Fast Ethernet connectivity, allowing the user to connect its IP
traffic with E1/T1 data across the same F/O link. The FEM/FTM unit has been
designed to be deployed in pairs so that at each end of the fiber link there is
an FEM/FTM device. These unit multiplexes Fast Ethernet data, and E1/T1 data
over the fiber trunk; however, the active E1/T1 channel reduces the Ethernet
data bandwidth by 3Mbps. AMI or B8ZS bipolar line code can be selected on the T1
copper interface. The FEM/FTM encapsulates E1T1 data into fast Ethernet frames
that are transmitted over the fiber link. These E1/T1 frames are given the
highest priority; they are transmitted as soon as the transmission of an
Ethernet frame is completed. On the receive side, these frames are extracted
from the Ethernet data flow and converted into timed E1/T1 signals. A built-in
buffer stores incoming Ethernet frames when E1/T1 frames are transmitted. Full
100Mbps data bandwidth is restored when no E1/T1 signals are received. The
Ethernet ports can operate in two selectable user modes: LAN mode: as a local
switch with a fiber link interface Aggregation mode: each Ethernet port forms
with the F/O link a separate traffic path to provide a physical level of
security and separation between the users and to allow traffic only between each
user and the F/O link (traffic between users is blocked) The LAN/Aggregation
selection is performed by means of DIP switch S10 The FEM/FTM is available with
a variety of multi-mode and single mode fiber interfaces (distances ranging up
to 150km) as well as single-fiber-strand (full bi-directional traffic) models.
The FEM/FTM is standard ?half-rack? size for economical installation in both
rack-mount and desktop modes. It is equipped with a reliable internal switching
power supply for extended MTBF. The optional DC power supply facilitates
deployment in Telco environments.
