FibroLAN MetroStar MCM100-RL
100Base-TX to 100Base-FX Redundant Link Modules
These modules have two copper input ports and two fiber output ports. The upper ports (100Base-FX and 100Base-TX) are designated as ?Backup Ports?(B ports) whereas the lower ports (100Base-FX and 100Base-TX) are by default designated as ?Main Ports?( M ports). The module provides two modes of operation : Redundant Link : data normally transmitted to RJ-45 M port is routed to the F/O M port, which in case of link loss, the module will switch the data over the F/O B port. If RJ45 M port fails, then F/O M ( or B ) port will be connected to RJ-45 B port.
Dual Channel : when Redundant Link mode of operation is disabled, the module will function as a dual channel media converter, each two adjacent ports forming a separate channel. (in this case the module will behave like the MetroStar? MCM100-02 module TP RJ45 M is connected to F/O port M, TP RJ45 B to F/O port B).
