Miniplex Multichannel System Products 12- and 24-Channel Digital Subscriber Line systems for adding voice frequency access lines over existing copper

Verso / Verilink’s Miniplex Multi-Channel system helps telephone companies meet the growing demand for new access lines by delivering plain old telephone service (POTS) without installing additional copper cable. The Miniplex Multi-Channel systems utilize the proven performance of UDC 4N1 line system components and uses standard 2B1Q digital encoding to carry four voice-grade analog circuits over an existing non-loaded cable pair. The system consists of line cards housed in a central office terminal and a 12- or 24-channel indoor or outdoor mounted multi-line remote terminal. The system is powered from the central office.

Telcos can upgrade in a planned manner by routinely installing Multi-Channel systems to replace aging analog-carrier (AML) technology. Unlike analog carriers, Miniplex Multi-Channel systems are spectrum compatible with T1, ISDN, and ADSL lines for economical and timely system upgrading.

Additionally, the transmission quality improvement with the Miniplex Multi-Channel system makes it attractive for conveying low-speed digital data, such as modem and fax traffic, and for hosting electronic devices, such as recording machines.
