Mega-T / Mega-E Family
Bit-Based Inverse Multiplexer
Choose the Mega-T/Mega-E family of inverse multiplexers if you want to deploy
the simplest, bit-based approach at the Layer 1 level of the serial bitstream.
Combine up to four T1 or E1 lines to create a single, logical, high-speed data
channel. The advantage is that this method is entirely independent of the
protocols of the data being transmitted and of the network equipment and can be
used in virtually any application
The Mega-T Multiple T1 Inverse Multiplexer bridges the gap
between T1 and T3. Inverse multiplexing up to four T1 lines, Mega-T creates a
single logical data channel which is the sum of the T1 bandwidths. On the
DTE side, Mega-T provides an EIA530 (V.35/RS449) or HSSI port operating at data
rates in multiples of 1.344 or 1.528 Mbps, up to
6.112 Mbps. On the network side, T1 interfaces support all standard framing and
coding formats and include optional built-in CSUs.
To ensure that your communication link remains available if an individual T1
line does not meet your performance requirements, Mega-T can automatically fall
back to a lower data rate. Mega-T can automatically restore a dropped T1 line
when performance again meets your requirements.
Mega-T includes advanced monitoring and alarm functions to help you maintain
your critical communication channels. And built-in diagnostics ensure that you
can isolate problems quickly and accurately.
Applications
Here, the Mega-T inverse multiplexes 4 T1 lines to create a
high-speed 6.112 channel for a LAN internetworking
application. The public network can be accessed directly through T1 access
lines, as shown, or through an M13
multiplexer and T3 access line.
