Overview | |
The Patton Model 1010B async, 4-wire, transformer isolated short range modem is the best choice for data-only RS-232 connections between buildings. Capable of distances up to 9.5 miles (see tables below), the Model 1010B has two jumper selectable modes: High Speed mode supports data rates from 2400 bps to 115.2 kbps. Low Speed mode supports data rates from 300 bps to 57.6 kbps. The Model 1010B?s transformer isolation provides immunity from ground loops, and 600 Watts of surge protection is standard. No AC power or batteries are required for operation. |
|
If your RS-232 "network" stretches between buildings, chances are you have established several workgroups or clusters of hardware. If so, we recommend our 1000R16P rack chassis or workgroup ClusterBoxesTM?outfitted with Model 1010RC modem cards?as the cleanest way to hook up your system. With the 1010RC's "dual card" design, you can fit 32 units in a single 19" rack chassis. Rear Interface Card options of RJ-11 and RJ-45 are available. |
