Overview | |
The 2021P is a cost effective solution for interconnection of RS-232 devices and CCITT X.21devices located in proximity of each other. The Interface Converter / Tail Circuit Buffer is bidirectional, with each port being individually DCE or DTE selectable via internally mounted slide switches. This permits interfacing RS-232 terminals or modems to X.21 terminals or modems. DSU/CSUs are ideal for this adapter, since it can operate at up to 64Kbps. The Interface Converter / Tail Circuit Buffer is convenient since you can select which RS-232 interface lead is translated to which X.21 interface lead. This combination of lead programability, along with DTE/DCE selection of each interface, allows the user to have one unit that can satisfy all interface conversion requirements without using several different products. Devices can be separated up to 4000 feet away on the balanced side and RS-232 devices can be extended up to 50 feet away. The unit is supplied with a DB-25 female connector on the RS-232 port
and a female DB-15 connector for X.21 port. 110 or 220 Volt operation is
provided by a switch located inside the case of the Interface Converter.
