The Larscom Orion 7400 provides carriers with a flexible, low-cost solution for expanding the addressable market for Ethernet over SONET (EoS) and legacy SONET services. By adopting the new EoS standards, such as Generic Framing Procedure, the Orion 7400 enables carriers to maximize bandwidth efficiency and manage services with minimal operational expense.

With 1 Gb Ethernet port, 8 10/100 Ethernet ports, 4 T1 ports, and an OC-3/OC-12/STS-1 network interface, the Orion 7403 enables the delivery of Ethernet services including Transparent LAN, Internet Access, Ethernet Private Line, and Ethernet Virtual Private Line while maintaining TDM applications. It integrates easily into any network, no matter what variety of equipment is currently being used. The Orion 7405 integrates field-pluggable components, such as DC power supplies, into an ideal solution for the cost-effective delivery of Ethernet services over SONET. Configure it with 16 10/100 Ethernet ports or 8 10/100 Ethernet ports and 1 Gb Ethernet port with long- or short-reach optical transceivers. Choose an EC-1 or OC-3/OC3c (long or intermediate reach) network interface. When using the OC-3 uplink interface, the 7405 also provides a DS3 port. Plug in up to 2 DC power supplies. Industry-standard General Framing Procedure (GFP), Virtual Concatenation (VCAT) and Link Capacity Adjustment System (LCAS) provide nearly 100% bandwidth efficiency. It integrates into an existing SONET network, allows bandwidth to be scaled in 1.5 Mbps increments, and delivers advanced Ethernet performance management, extended Ethernet frame support, and dynamic bandwidth management in a compact, low-power design.
