Miniplex 2N1 CU-96 UDC Plug-in Miniplex System Channel Unit for SLC-96 Remote Terminals

The Miniplex 2N1 CU96 Universal Digital Channel (UDC) channel unit helps telephone companies use Miniplex 2N1 UDC products in areas served by SLC-96 digital loop carriers (DLCs). The Miniplex system offers cost and time advantages whenever additional line requests are likely to be made, particularly in carrier-serving areas with buried service.

The Miniplex 2N1 CU96 UDC channel unit plugs directly into a Lucent SLC-96 remote terminal channel bank. It multiplexes two adjacent channels onto one copper distribution pair (the ?odd? pair), providing a quick, reliable solution for new line requests. The unit is fully compatible with any Verso / Verilink 2N1 UDC remote terminal, and provides the same features, functions, and transmission performance as a complete Miniplex system.

In a universal configuration, the two lines are set up in the DLC?s central office terminal using a standard dual-channel unit, such as the WP10. The Miniplex 2N1 CU96 UDC channel unit can also be used in SLC-96 remote terminals that are directly integrated in a TR08 configuration.

The Miniplex 2N1 CU96 UDC channel unit initializes automatically upon installation, with no adjustments, tuning, or alignment necessary. It supports exactly the same customer premises equipment and transports the same services as the standard Miniplex 2N1 UDC system. The Miniplex 2N1 CU96 UDC channel unit responds to bypass requests from a Pair Gain Test Controller (PGTC) to allow Mechanized Loop Testing (MLT) by presenting MLT resistive signatures.
