Verso / Verilink Miniplex 2N1 CU-N-Dual UDC

Plug-in Miniplex System Channel Unit for NEC ISC-303 Remote Terminals

The Miniplex 2N1 CU-N-DUAL Universal Digital Channel (UDC) channel unit helps telephone companies use Verso / Verilink’s Miniplex digital two-channel carrier systems in areas served by NEC ISC-303 digital loop carriers (DLCs). The Miniplex system offers cost and time advantages whenever additional line requests are likely to be made, particularly in carrier-serving areas with buried service.

The Miniplex 2N1 CU-N-DUAL UDC channel unit is a dual 2N1 channel unit; therefore it may utilize two Miniplex dual POTS remote terminals. Both remote terminals operate independently of one another and need not be collocated.

The Miniplex 2N1 CU-N-DUAL UDC channel unit is line-card compatible with the NEC ISC-303 digital loop carrier system and plugs directly into an NEC ISC-303 remote terminal channel bank. It multiplexes four adjacent channels onto two copper distribution pairs (the “odd” pairs). Each distribution pair is connected to a separate Miniplex 2N1 remote terminal.

The Miniplex 2N1 CU-N-DUAL UDC channel unit initializes automatically upon installation, with no adjustments, tuning, or alignment necessary. It supports exactly the same customer premises equipment and transports the same services as the standard NEC POTS system (4PRT).

The Miniplex 2N1 CU-N-DUAL UDC channel unit responds to bypass requests from a Pair Gain Test Controller (PGTC) to allow Mechanized Loop Testing (MLT) by presenting MLT resistive signatures.
