• RIC-E3/ETH and RIC-T3/ETH, interface converters, offer simple, cost-effective connection between E3/T3 services and 10/100BaseT LANs.

• RIC-E3/ETH and RIC-T3/ETH transparently connect unframed E3/T3 and 10/100BaseT links, utilizing the full E3/T3 bandwidth without heavy overhead associated with packet or cell-based technologies.

• Built-in Ethernet bridge with VLAN support enables virtual LAN connections.

• The Ethernet interface module performs frame filtering and forwarding at the Fast Ethernet maximum theoretical rate of 150,000 frames per second. The bridge causes no LAN delays.

• The converters provide full control over the multicast and broadcast messages, which can be forwarded from LAN to WAN or blocked from it.

• RIC-E3/ETH and RIC-T3/ETH support auto-negotiation, which allows plug-and-play Ethernet connection without any additional configuration.

• The front and back panel LEDs indicate AIS and LOS line conditions and provide information on the status of the Ethernet link.

• A dry contact alarm relay port is supported via a rear panel 9-pin connector. The port enables relay of the major and minor alarm conditions using Normally Open and Normally Closed operation of the connector pins.
