Patton’s ForeFront™ Access Infrastructure Solutions delivers a scalable carrier-class access platform with next-generation network delivery of narrowband, broadband, and multimedia services. Using industry-standard CompactPCI open-systems architecture, the ForeFront AIS allows deployment of Patton’s TDM, packet, dedicated, and dial-up system cards as well as third-party cPCI resources…all within the same chassis!

The ForeFront System offers a robust, reliable solution complete with power distribution, thermal management, and a high-speed backplane. The shelf fits into a standard 19-in. rack. Each shelf has integrated cooling and flexible power options, and boasts 1+1 or N+1 redundancy with AC or DC combinations. The high speed backplane supports a wide variety of multimedia—from TDM nx64 to packet, IP, and cell traffic. Field serviceable hot-swappable components provide high availability while the advanced design avoids single points of failure.

Select any combination of system, peripheral, media, trunking, and matrix cards for a total access solution. For network services, choose from a wide variety of system cards—from DSL to RAS; Packet/DSLAM to DACS. For complete flexibility, system cards can be mixed in any combination.

ForeFront G.SHDSL Concentration System Configurations

The ForeFront FullPipe—configured with 3096RC T-DACs—provides up to 128 G.SHDSL links in a 4U chassis. E1 or SONET/SDH interface options make data network integration a snap. Combined with Patton’s 3086 CPE, it provides the complete solution.
 

3096RC T-DAC Provides 16 G.SHDSL links at rates of nx64 kbps to 2.3 Mbps. 6511RC Matrix Matrix timeslot mapper grooms any channel from any card—from any port—to high speed electrical or optical SONET/SDH interface. 3096RCT/0E
DSL rear access card provides any-to-any DS0 connectivity to the Patton SoftSwitch Access Node.
3096RCT/4E 3096RCT/8E 3096RCT/16E
DSL rear access cards provide any-to-any DS0 connectivity to the Patton SoftSwitch Access Node. Additionally, it provides 4, 8, or 16 E1 WAN egress ports.

Power Supplies 3U-high power supplies, AC and DC versions, can be used in any of the ForeFront Access chassis.

High current +5 VDC, +3.3VDC with active current sharing maintains load balance within 5% between supplies. Hot-swappable with 1+1 and N+1 redundancy.
