Overview | |
Your telco lines are a vital data link with the outside world. But they can also end up bringing some very undesirable transient spikes into your data ports. The Patton Model 552 installs between an incoming telco line and dial-up/leased line modem, ISDN modem (a.k.a. TA or NTU), T1/E1/PRI or DDS and intercepts harmful telco line transients before they cause hardware damage. Surge energy is then diverted to nearby chassis ground through a braided metal strap. The Model 552 has a surge handling capacity of 1500 Watts, and is available in seven versions: The Model 552-D2 (dial-up line) protects RJ-11 pins 3 & 4. The Model 552-D4 (dual dial-up line) protects RJ-11 pins 2, 3, 4 & 5. The Model 552-DDS protect RJ-45 pins 1, 2, 7, & 8. The Model 552-T1 (T1, E1, PRI) protects RJ-45 pins 1, 2, 4, & 5. The Model 552/U protects pins 3, 4, 5 & 6 on the RJ-45 connector. The Model 552-ST (ISDN) protects all 8 RJ-45 pins. 552-ST (ISDN) protects all 8 RJ-45 pins. The ISDN versions of the Model 552 protect both data and batery signals. A 6" (15cm) acapter cable is supplied with every Model 552 (all versions). |
