Overview | |
The Patton Model 1206P Modem Eliminator is a cost effective solution for interconnection of terminal devices located in proximity of each other. The use of two modems is eliminated, with a resulting cost savings to the user. This device is bidirectional with each port connecting to a DTE. The MEs permit interfacing one terminal to another terminal without the use of two Modems. The MEs provide sync baud rates up to 2,048Kbps. When an ME is used with async data, baud rate selection is not required because the Modem Eliminator is transparent to the data. Terminal devices can be separated up to 50 feet away from the ME depending on the baud rate selected. The unit is supplied with two female connectors for connection of the terminal units. The MEs are available as either a stand-alone units or in multiunit rackmount configurations. In the stand-alone configuration, the MEs are housed in a sturdy aluminum enclosure and are supplied with a switchable 110V / 220V linear power supply. In the rackmount configuration, each ME occupies one slot of the
1010R16/P front load rack. The rackmount version, Model 1206PRC, fits into
the 1010R16/P. The Modem Eliminators have internal linear power supplies
that operate at 110/220V switch selectable. No bulky wall mount power
transformers to clutter up your data center. |
