Matrix 50 Series Switcher
Video, S-Video, Component Video and Audio Router
The
Matrix 50 Series Switchers are true, broadcast quality matrix/routing switchers
capable of switching multiple inputs and outputs of video, S-video, component
video HDTV and stereo audio (balanced and unbalanced) signals. Matrix (or
routing) switchers are used in applications where multiple input sources (i.e.,
VCRs, cameras, VTRs, laser disc players, etc.) need to be switched to more than
one output destination (i.e., monitor, projector, etc.) either simultaneously or
individually. Extron’s Matrix 50 Series modules are available in four
different input/output (I/O) sizes: 8 x 4, 8 x 8, 12 x 4 and 12 x 8. Each
switcher has one audio channel (mono or stereo) and three video channels that
are capable of being populated/customized to suit the requirements of any
system. For example, if a system requires I/O switching of video with stereo
audio follow, then only one video and one audio module is required. But, if the
system requires switching of S-video (S-VHS) and stereo audio then two video
modules and one audio module would be required. Thus, for component video three
video modules would be needed. Each Matrix 50 is designed with only the required
video and audio modules, saving money and since it’s factory configured by
Extron (per each system), it’s also saving time.
The Matrix 50 Series Switcher is compatible with composite video,
S-video (S-VHS), component video, HDTV (including JVC’s W-VHS), RGB with sync
on green and stereo audio (balanced or unbalanced) signals.
