The SpectraComm 553 is a rackmounted single channel T1 / FT1 CSU/DSU offering highly cost-effective, direct line-by-line access to the T1 network. Occupying a single slot in the SpectraComm Shelf, the SC 553 supports T1 and FT1 services from 56 kbps to a full 1.544 Mbps. Network interface rates may be selected as multiples of either 56 kbps or 64 kbps to the full 1.536 Mbps payload. Connection to data terminal equipment is equally flexible, with support for a V.35 or an optional TIA/EIA-530/422 interface, plus an optional DSX-1 drop and insert interface. A flash memory architecture facilitates downline loading of future firmware upgrades
