The IG-202T and IG-V23 modems are ideal for industrial
communication applications including SCADA systems, RTUs, traffic monitor and
control, and industrial automation networks. The IG-202T and IG-V23 modem is
designed to operate over 4-wire full duplex or 2 wire half duplex over
unconditioned leased lines or private metallic circuits. For optimum
performance, the modem employs FSK modulations to be compatible with Bell202T
and ITU-V23 standards, which can communicate over a variety of transmission
lines.
The IG-202T and IG-V23 modem can operate over a wide range of AC or DC power
supply voltages and temperatures. With proven reliability and ease of
installation the IG-202T and IG-V23 is ideal for point-to-point and
point-to-multipoint polling networks, where reliability and low-network latency
are critical for system performance.

manufactured for rugged industrial communication networks. Both modems deliver
cost effective and reliable 1200bps asynchronous solutions for point to point

Reasons to Buy the IG202T Modems The Product The IG202T modem was designed to be compatible with the Bell 202T standards which was established in the 1970s by the Bell Laboratory. The modem standards has been adapted by many modem manufacturers and has not been changed in the last 30 years. The IG202T was designed to meet the highly dependable and reliability demand by the utility and industrial applications. The IG202T modem is 100% compatible with the Bell 202T standard modems. The IG202T is implemented with the latest VLSI technology to replace the old designs that were 20 years or older products. By using VLSI, component count of the IG202T is much lower, which lowers the failure rate and increase the modem?s mean time between failure (MTBF) The IG202T modems are built with industrial grade components and will operate over the temperature range of -40 to +85 degree C. The UDS/MOT202T were build with general commercial grade components and is guarantee to operate from 0 to +50 C only. The IG202T has additional features (i.e. auto RTS) to support SCADA equipment that does not provide the full RS-232 or RS-485 control signals. The IG202T equipped with 3 different types of surge protection devices to guard against its power supply input and leased line interface. The surge protection for the MOT202T has been minimum to non-existence. The new modem has a much smaller foot-print than the MOT202T modems. The IG202T is about 30% the size of the MOT202T, and consumes less power. Because of its low power consumption, it is now possible to operate the modem in battery or solar powered environment The new modem will support 10 to 60 volts DC power supply, or can be powered by a factory provided AC to DC converter from 100 to 240 VAC or 100-400VDC. This will reduce customer?s inventory of modems and saving cost by stocking only one model instead of two models. The IG202T modems support both RS-232 and RS-485 interface. The IG202T is designed with a microprocessor controller on-board, it minimized the use of DIP switch or jumpers settings, which simplify installation and cut down potential errors. The IG202T modems can be rack-mount (IG202T-RM), panel or wall-mounted, or DIN rail mounting with the optional DIN rail mounting kit. The rackmount version will fit into the original Motorola RM16 chassis or the new RM16 chassis. The Support The engineers who designed the original MOT202T modem no longer support or enhance the modem. They have changed companies and have designed the IG202T modems. The engineers who designed the IG202T modem are available to support applications and technical issues only for the IG202T modems. They will stand behind the product and support of the IG202T modems for any future applications, update and enhancement. DCE does not expect to continue to offer future enhancements or updates to our older 202T products. Problem solving and the ability to support new applications will be found only in the new IG202T products.
