CWDM
Canoga Perkins’ CWDM system allows service providers to transmit up to 9 applications over a single fiber pair. Model 6004 and 6008 Passive CWDM modules work in conjunction with Canoga Perkins’ CWDM transponder line to deliver carrier class performance at a fraction of the cost of expensive DWDM systems. Each port is capable of receiving discrete CWDM wavelengths from 1470nm to 1610nm, with optional 1310nm pass through channel, and optically multiplexing the wavelengths into one composite. Canoga Perkins is a pioneer in CWDM and is an active member of the CWDM Commercial Interest Group. The passive CWDM module is fully ITU Standards compliant and has successfully attained NEBS Level 3 Compliance. Both 4 channel and 8 channel modules can be fitted in the UCS 1000 chassis. The 4 channel module occupies 1 slot while the 8 channel module occupies 2 slots. Popular applications include point-to-point, used with passive OADMs for Drop and Continue/Insert, SONET/SDH, Gigabit Ethernet aggregation, ESCON/FICON/Fibre Channel aggregation, and much more. |
