  Total Access OPTI-MX OC-3/OC-12 SONET Multiplexer

The SCM Module is the user and OS system interface to the Total Access® OPTI-MX chassis. Through the SCM, the user or remote OS can provision modules, monitor alarm status, query for performance, and initiate tests for any module in the chassis.

The following features are supported on the SCM Module:

• DB-9 for the CRAFT interface on the front panel
• Provisioning of all modules
• Testing and performance monitoring
• Alarm status LEDs
• Provides alarm status via TL-1 and SNMP
• ACO LED and control (push button and wired)
• Visual alarm outputs
• Audible alarm outputs
• External alarm inputs (3) and a fan alarm input
• Maintains alarm history log and provides access to module PM logs
• SONET DCC processing for all DCC channels
• Supports the following management interfaces: CRAFT (RS-232) port; Ethernet; RS-485 and X.25
• Hot Swap capability
• ADMIN port provided through the DB-25 port on the back panel. All 25 pins are connected to the SCM module to allow ADMIN and X.25 access (Requires a special Y cable.)
• Supports TL1, SNMP, Telnet, and TFTP
