  Total Access OPTI-MX OC-3/OC-12 SONET Multiplexer

The Total Access® OPTI-MX Chassis is a 19- or 23-inch rack-mountable platform for the Total Access OPTI-MX system. This chassis houses High Speed (HS) modules for terminating fiber circuits of up to OC-12 rate. It houses up to 12 Tributary Modules that can deliver DS3/EC1, DS1, OC-3, and Ethernet services through its mid speed (MS) slots.

The following features are supported on the OPTI-MX Chassis:

• 19 in. or 23 in. rack mountable
• 2RU high (3.5 in.)
• Redundant –48, –24, or +24 VDC power inputs
• Champ connections for 84 DSX-1 circuits on the back panel
• BNC connectors for 12 DS3 or STS-1 circuits on the back panel
• Front access to fiber connections for both HS and MS modules
• RJ-45 Ethernet management interface on the back panel
• DB-25 X.25/Admin port interface on the back panel
• Wire-wrap pins for the RS-485 interface, alarms, etc.
• Wire-wrap pins for the BITS clock
• Meets NEBS Level 3, extended temperature –40°C to +65°C
• Convection or forced cooling with the optional fan pack, P/N 1184507L1
• Accommodates up to two High Speed Optical Multiplexer Modules
• Accommodates up to 12 Tributary Modules
• Requires 1 SCM Module
• Meets NEBS Level 3, GR-1089-CORE and UL 60950
